Festus Growth Study

The City of Festus has increased its population by 79% since 1970. Growth is a natural part of any city’s evolution, especially in a rapidly developing area like Jefferson County. The i5Group led a growth study for the City of Festus that examined areas currently outside of Festus to assess future growth potential and help the City plan for future service needs and financial impacts.

The growth study analyzed areas outside the current City boundaries, including existing: land use and zoning, streams, water bodies, and flood hazard areas, governmental district boundaries such as school districts, fire districts, etc., streets and roads and traffic volumes, and developed and undeveloped parcels/sites.

Using this information will help the City project potential future expenditures and revenues if these areas were to become part of the City. The growth analysis will help the City, homeowners, businesses, and property owners better understand the fiscal impacts of potential incorporation into the City.
